'Tories cannot be trusted' ahead of WASPI Rally

Published date : 19 Apr 2017

Jeane Freeman, MSP for Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley has spoken out ahead of addressing the WASPI (Women Against State Pension Inequality) Ayrshire Rally planned to take place in Kilmarnock this Saturday (22 April).

Ms Freeman said;

“I have been a staunch supporter of the WASPI women and their campaign since the start, and I’m delighted to be addressing the WASPI Ayrshire rally.

“Women born in the 1950s who paid into their state pension for years have had their planned retirement age changed cruelly and without notice, leaving their plans in tatters.   Many have been forced into poverty as a result.   The high-handed tactics of the UK Tory Government show once again that the Tories cannot be trusted to do the right thing.”
