MSP Congratulates Two Local Groups on their Successful Lottery Funding

Published date : 13 Jan 2017

Jeane Freeman, constituency MSP for Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley has congratulated the Bellsbank Project and the Catrine Community Trust on their successful applications and subsequent Big Lottery Fund grants.

The Bellsbank Project will be able to continue their work on providing a range of social and physical activities for adults in the Doon Valley area which will enhance their mental and physical health, reduce isolation and improve their social connections.

The Catrine Community Trust will run a range of activities in the Catrine Community Education and Visitor Interpretation Centre for everyone in the village. This will encourage use of the newly refurbished centre and the groups will hold sessions on health and wellbeing and bringing the community together.

Following the news, Jeane Freeman MSP said:

“I welcome this excellent news for the Bellsbank Project and the Catrine Community Trust who both carry out excellent work.

"I visited the Catrine Community Trust a couple of months ago and was very impressed with their work. I look forward to visiting the Bellsbank Project in the next few months.

“I am sure that the communities in Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley will feel the benefits of this Big Lottery Funding."
